OUR TEAM

RAMESH T

Ramesh is the Field Supervisor based in Wayanad, with a BCom degree from the University of Calicut. With 21 years of service in the Kerala Forest Department, he has worked across key locations including Tholpetty, Periya, Kalpetta, Sultan Bathery, Meppadi, and the Flying Squad Range Office in Kalpetta.

Ramesh has extensive experience in fire management, human-animal conflict mitigation, and wildlife surveys, including tiger transect lines and elephant monitoring. In his current role, Ramesh is responsible for the daily supervision of the field restoration team at Tholpetty.

RAVI R

Ravi is a Team Lead responsible for overseeing all pitting and planting activities. He completed his SSLC and has been working with FFS since the inception of the Forest Land Restoration initiative in 2020.

ANIL MR

Anil is a Team Lead overseeing all activities related to Assisted Natural Regeneration. He completed his studies up to the Pre-University level and has gained experience through temporary roles with the Kerala Forest Department. Since 2020, he has been actively involved with FFS in the Forest Land Restoration efforts.

RANJITH

Ranjith is our computer expert, responsible for managing data roster entries, GPS tracking files, project photos, and other computer-based data tasks. He completed his studies up to the Pre-University level before joining the Nettur Technical Training Foundation in Thalassery, where he earned a certification in Computerized Numerical Control (CNC). He gained practical experience as a trainee in Bangalore for one year. Ranjith has been with FFS since the inception of the Forest Land Restoration initiative in 2020.

SUREST CK

Suresh is a skilled expert in the use of handheld tools for Senna removal and serves as a Team Lead for Senna-related restoration projects. Before joining FFS, he worked in the transport and bus industry. He completed his studies up to the 8th standard and has diverse experience across various fields, including industrial work, operating tourist buses, and the textile business. He has been involved in Forest Land Restoration since 2021.

JANU T

Janu is from the Kuruchiyar tribal community. Her early memories are of working in a tree nursery until the teak plantations were developed and began clear-cutting old growth natural forests. She talks about the large sized trees that were brutally cut down for teak plantations. Over the past decade, her primary livelihood has been maintaining tree nurseries for FFS. She oversees the sprouting of diverse endemic tree species. Her team ensures seedlings procured from other nurseries across the Western Ghats are properly cared for until planting. Nursery management is an 18-month long cycle. Approximately 20,000 saplings of 80 different species are nurtured per annum at our nursery under Janu's watchful eyes.
